We live in a society in which many choices are to be expected, and the Hyundai Kona exceeds that standard, as drivers have a myriad of options. Those who aren’t interested in maximizing the vehicle’s ability to travel rugged terrain and who want to maximize fuel efficiency and affordability will be most interested in the four-cylinder engine. With the latest in fuel efficiency, technology this not-quite-car-not-quite-SUV is sure to become all the rage.

2019 Nissan Kicks

Hyundai wasn't the only automaker to come out with a new subcompact crossover last year, though the Kicks won’t be hitting the streets until summer. Otherwise, drivers interested in a brand-new model will have a difficult time choosing between the Nissan Kicks and the Hyundai Kona.

Drivers familiar with Nissan’s Juke may recognize some features in the Kicks, prompting them to wonder whether the Kicks is meant to replace the Juke. And the answer is yes. The Juke was a solid vehicle with multiple desirable features. However, Nissan chose to discontinue the model. In its place, they have developed this unique crossover vehicle with more desirable interior features, stronger handling and a stop-you-in-your-tracks exterior. While any demographic would enjoy this vehicle, features such as the sound system, affordability and “funky” coloring options target a younger audience.

Perhaps the most unique aspect of this not-quite-SUV-not-quite car-not-quite-station-wagon is the huge variety of color and personalization options. It is also one of the most affordable.  Drivers who aspire to be different will have a field day with the option of having a car whose body is a modest blue, black or gray, but whose roof boasts a vibrant orange, yellow or red. In addition to the bold color options, features including the “floating” roof design, wraparound visor look, and its bold V-motion grille, this vehicle’s design is similar to no other vehicles currently on the road.

The Kicks is equipped with a 1.6-liter inline four power source that produces 126 horsepower and 115 lb-ft or torque. The Kicks is available with a front-wheel drive automatic transmission, so drivers requiring a V6 or all-wheel drive would prefer the Kona. But perhaps one of the best aspects of the Kicks is the way the performance and efficiency are equally strong in this vehicle. An advanced engine combined with a lightweight design results in the ability of the 2019 Kicks to utilize every drop of fuel.

From a smooth and comfortable ride to the obvious fine craftsmanship in the stitching of the seats and steering wheel, climbing into the Kicks transports any driver or passenger to a world of possibilities and adventure. Once you enjoy the exterior and exquisite interior, drivers will feel transported to the front row of a concert when they enjoy music from the speakers located in the headrest of the Kicks.

Other cutting-edge technologies that come standard with this vehicle include automatic emergency braking with forward collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring and an around view monitor that uses four cameras to provide a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of your vehicle. This technology also provide split-screen close-ups images of the front rear and curbside views of your treasured vehicle. An additional perk of this feature is the on-screen heads-up when moving objects such as rogue shopping carts, or runaway pets are near your vehicle.

Like the Hyundai Kona, the Nissan Kicks includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, automatic climate control, heated front seats and remote engine start packages. With a spacious back cargo area that can even fold into the back seats if needed, the Kicks is not only comfortable but also capable of handling a day exploring the city or the beach; a concert or a camping trip.
